I recently transcribed everything within the probate recordslocated in Ralls County courthouse for William Adams who died before 18 Sept 1830. The administratrix of his estate is Lowria / Lauria / Lowry / Lorria -- I assume she's his widow, but it doesn't identify her as such. The transcription is available at:
BLM records show William acquired title to the land described in the inventory of his estate in 1829. The land fell into the area that became Monroe County in 1831.
I would like tolearn more about this couple -- Specifically:Is this William the same one mentioned in the April 1830 Ralls Co. deed (located at same URL listed above.)In that deed William is identified as "late of Harrison County, KY" and James & Elizabeth Adams sell their "right, title & claim" to William's land on Mill Creek as "heir at law". Note: they sell their right to the land, not the land itself, suggesting others hold title to it as well.
Presumably it's this James Adams who acquired land "about 1819" in what is now Monroe County; his tract isn't that far from the one in William's estate. However, no other Adams except William & Lorria are mentioned in William's probate papers found in Ralls County. No record showing distribution of the estate leads me to think there is another file on William's probate in another county.
I'm equally interested in identifying which of two couples -- "James & Elizabeth Adams" in Missouri 1850 -- this 1830s Monroe Co. couple is.
