Researching Adams who originally came from Botetourt, Virginia and were in Oregon early - 1840's and 1850's.
John Adams, born 1774 in Botetourt, Virginia (according to DLC) arrived in Oregon, October 1850.Took claim in Douglas County in summer, 1850 with some other Adams.
He had been in Tennessee where at least two sons were born.
He fought in War of 1812, Battle of New Orleans.
May have been first "signer" for Christian Church in Oregon.
