We do have a connection.Read my recent post to the ADAMS list and the GENFORUM ADAMS.
I am trying to sort out the early colonial ADAMS of BATH, HYDE/BEAUFORT counties around the Pungo River to get the lineage straight.
Has your group done any linkage for the ancestors of that area?
The Earliest I have is the John ADAMS b abt 1775/1780 who died abt 1828 and wife Sally, whose will of 1828 shows that our John Quincy ADAMS b 1825 Leechville, who married Eunice E. Satterthwaite is his son.
I have the genealogy of the ARCHBELL-ARCHIBALD families of the same area.John ARCHBELL had a ferry on Archbell point that went over to Core Point on the South shore of the Pamlico river.
The ARCHBELL were closely related to the SATTERTHWAITE and CLARK families who had plantations both on the South and North Shores of Pamlico river.
I have transcribed a lot of deeds, wills, tax lists and misc records for the ADAMS of 1707 to 1850 but still have a hard time getting the John, William, Abraham, Henry, etc sorted out.
