Virginia Blankinship Adams.Virginia Blankinship Adams, 87, of Lynchburg [VA] died Thursday, May 2, 1996, in Lynchburg General Hospital.She was the wife of the late William V. Adams.
Born Aug. 6, 1908, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Hilary Hubert Blankinship and the late Bertha Laughon Blankinship.She retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. where she was a member of the Quarter-Century Club. She was a member of Servamus and Heritage United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three step-daughters, Billie Adams Chambers of Lynchburg, Beatrice Adams Blanton and her husband Demouth of Union, S.C. and Nancy Adams Drumheller and her husband Earl of El Paso, Texas; nine grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and two nieces, Ruth Blankinship Conner and Shirley Blankinship Brooks, both of Lynchburg.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Heritage United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Donald E. Carlton and the Rev. Kendall Parrish.Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Brooks, 3704 Nicholas St.
The family suggests memorials be made to Heritage United Methodist Church.
