According to Oakland Co, MI history, Reuben Adams was a son of William Adams.Reuben was born in Genesee Co, NY in 1816.There was a William Adams who moved to Alexander, Genesee Co, NY in 1807 and built a saw mill and a grist mill in 1808.He was for some time in the state militia.According to "History of Oakland County, Michigan, Vol. II, 1912," William was married twice.This source also said that William's father was of Irish descent and his mother of Scoth descent and that he moved to Oakland Co in the 1840s.The Oakland Co. history does say thatWilliam Adams owned land in Livingston Co, NY.
I am trying to find a connection with MY Adams family. William Adams was b. 1784 and died 28 May 1866 in Bloomfield Hills, Oakland Co., MI. His father was Robert Adams, b 1753 in NH and died 28 Sep 1828 in Ogden, Monroe Co, NY.He lived for much of his life in Livonia, Livingston Co., NY.
