Abilene Reporter News Abilene, Texas July 30, 1952 Abilene Woman Buried at Ranger Ranger, July 29: Funeral services for Mrs. ELI H. ADAMS, 68, of Abilene, were held Tuesday at the Ranger Baptist Church with Rev. J. L. COLLINGS, pastor of the Cisco Primitive Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. BILL HOGUE, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church here. Burial is in the Veal Cemetery here. Mrs. Adams died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. LUCIE SCOGGINS of Electra, Monday, July 28, following a six weeks illness. Mrs. Adams, a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Abilene, was born July 25, 1884 in Austin, and later moved to Abilene where she lived at 2550 South Fifth St. Her husband, E. H. ADAMS, died July 24, 1949. Survivors include five sons, A. M. and JOHNNY of Abilene, J. E., B. H. and P. F. of Charleston, Missouri, three daughters, Mrs. Scoggins of Electra, Mrs. R. E. GLENN of Lawton, Okla., and Mrs. P J. VEAL of Pampa; six sisters, Mrs. O. W. JOHNS of Maybank, Mrs. C. L. HEFLEY of Artesia, New Mexico, Mrs. J. H. BRATTON of Abilene, Mrs. R. L. FAMBRO of Fort Worth, Mrs. B. C. MCNABB of Ranger, Mrs. H. EMBLETON of San Diego, California, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Nephews of Mrs. Adams served as pallbearers.
