The only source I have for Wiley's father comes from Ancestry Family Trees, so I have done no research of my own, but it is a place for you to start with. Maybe someone else reading will chime in: Thomas Adams, b. 1790. Wiley's mother, Mary A., b. abt 1793 in Tennessee, was living in District 47, Lawrence County, Missouri in 1850. Happy hunting!
You also mentioned that you are a descendant of Minerva Adeline Adams. I believe that Minerva Adeline Adams' mother was Sarah Jane Mallard, not his first wife Nancy Minerva Hall.
According to Minerva Adeline's death certificate (Ash Grove, Greene County, Missouri no. 32379 - you can download it for free on the Missouri website at http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/)http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/), she was born Christian County 5 Jul 1856 and died 14 Oct 1935, buried --you probably already have this, but in case you don't-- Slagle Cemetery, Pleasant Hope, Polk County, Missouri.
Her death certificate cites Jane Mallard as her mother. I know death certificates can contain wrong information, but her birth in 1856 makes it more persuasive since Wiley Adams and Sary Mallard married on 9 Sep 1855 in Lawrence County.
According to an email exchange I had recently with a Hall-Adams descendant, Nancy Minerva Hall died 18 Jan 1853 in Lawrence County and is buried in Marionville IOOF Cemetery in Lawrence County. Minerva Adeline Adams was born after Wiley Adams moved from Lawrence County to Polk, Christian County.
Do you have information to the contrary? I'd sure like to have it, because if my information is wrong, I've been logging in a lot of Adams cousins in my database that might not be :) Sarah Jane Mallard is my 1st cousin 5x removed.
