I'm sorry, but the Richard and Susannah Adams family I posted arrived in the spring of 1820 from Casey County, KY where they had lived for 15 yrs. They were one of the earliest Adams families in what became Jackson County, MO, settling by Ft. Osage near what is now the town of Sibley, Jackson Co.
I know lots of other Adams families arrived in that part of Missouri in the 1930s and 1940s from reading all the 1970-1990 "Adams Addenda" annual publications - a painful task, but very rewarding. These are available from Salt Lake City FHL on 42 microfiche (#6047027) containing random assorted bits on about every early Adams family in America. Since you know your Tenn. and Missouri locations you might find useful info in these. Be warned that it is a challenge to wade through all those microfiche!
