Hi again, Gary! Thanks for the info.I am going to my local library this weekend to try to start working on this!
Do you know what happened to Richard & Susannah's son James?I know there are several different James Adams that lived in the surrounding counties which adds further confusion. This feels like a lesson in futility, and really raises my blood pressure, which isn't helpful, but I am obsessed with trying to find out about my James Adams life and whereabouts prior to 1840.We don't know where in TN or NC they came from, can find no marriage record there, for James & Catherine (Nee Thomas) or birth records for their children who, per census records were born in NC between 1825-1835 or so.The later children, who were born in Missouri are easier to trace. With so little to go on it it's very frustrating.Trying to sort out the Adams' families in NW Missouri around 1850 isn't easy.We do know that some of them (James children)moved to Buchanan/Andrew County Missouri and appear on later census records.
I hope someone can help with this!I am sure they likely have hundreds on descendants we have yet to find.
