My grandfather was Alvin Jimmie Adams, and his parents were Wylie Q. and Nellie L. Adams. Wylie's Father was Joseph Robert (Joe Bob or Joseph B.) Who Married Rosalie Parrish. Joseph's Parents were James M. Adams and Sarah S. Donaldson. A Man from lumpkin, GA sent me some documents that are very reliable sources. From the book: Deaths Murders And Lynchings Abstracted From Lumpkin County Georgia Newspapers Vol. 1 1873-1900 By Jimmie E. Anderson " James M Adams, one of the oldest and most highly respected men in the county, dropped dead wednesday, while working in the mines over on long branch."
In the book: Lumpkin County, Georgia Cemeteries by Ted O. Brooke (Hardcover - Jan 2005) Page 321 - St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery (Located on the Lumpkin/Hall county line) "East Section Row 12: James M. Adams B-01 June 1817 D- 16 July 1899 Sarah S. Adams B- 14 May 1819 - D-20 Oct 1904 Absalom Q. Adams 1866-1928, Sophronia E. Ownby Adams, Delmus Benton Adams", and family are all listed here. Also note that the 1900 census lists Sarah Adams as living in Auroria, Lumpkin, GA with her son Absalom and his wife Sophronia. He also sent me documents copied from the Lumpkin County Court records. These records entail the dividing up of James M. Adams assets and lands to his wife Sarah S. Adams, and lists the death date for James as 16 July 1899 in the records. The papers also list said heirs by name: Joseph B. Adams. Mary Elizabeth, R. A. Adams, and A. Q. Adams. The last two would be Rowe and Absalom. I believe this is the James M. Adams you are looking for. the birth dates shocked me, but after reading the court documents along with the book information I am convinced this is the James Adams that married Sarah S. Donaldson in Lumpkin county GA.
