"The Pulaski Democrat" [Pulaski, Oswego Co., NY], Wednesday, 23 Jun 1926, p. 1:
One of the prettiest weddings of this season was that of Anna Eunice Shepard, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Fred B. Shepard of Lake street and Elwyn Clarence Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Adams of Glen Ave. which took place at the bride's home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Ray Wootton, Rector of the St. James Church; the Episcopal ring ceremony being used.
To the strains of Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" played by Miss Dorothy Bishop, the bride entered the parlor with her maid of honor, Miss Beatrice Potter of Park street where they were met a a bower of ferns and snowballs by the groom and the best man, Mr. Archer Reese of Altmar. The bride was given away by her father.
The bride was gowned in peach georgette and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and sweet peas. The dress of the maid of honor was of flame colored georgette and she carried a bouquet of sweet peas.
The bridal table was decorated in pink and white. Besides the bride's parents the guests included Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lewis and their, daughter, Grace, Mr. and Mrs. John Adams, Mr. Dewitt Shepard, Miss Dorothy and Miss Jane Bishop of Pulaski, Mrs. Ruth Tanner and daughter, Lucile of Syracuse, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Esty of Belleville, Mr. and Mrs. Winfield Cobb of Richland.
The couple are on an extended tour of the Great Lakes and will be at their apartment on Jefferson St. to their friends about June 29th.
The bride was formerly a student at Pulaski Academy and is a very popular, member of the younger set of Pulaski. Mr. Adams is a graduate of Pulaski Academy and of Oswego Normal.
The pre-nuptial events include an announcement part given by Miss Beatrice Potter and a variety of showers given by the bride's sister, Mrs. Erwin Holmes and by Mrs. George Woods and Mrs. Albert Lewis.
Note: Since "The Democrat" was a weekly paper, the wedding probably took place the previous week [Tuesday, June 15] not just the day before publication [June 22]. However, without primary evidence, the date of marriage is questionable.
