Basically, I am not "Related" either.
Just that Mary ASHBRIDGE married William McCLURE.
They had a son James.
Later, William died or disappeared someplace?? Seems cloudy information.
At any rate, later on, from Chester Co PA, Mary and Mother and family remove to York, now Toronto, CAN.
There she marries Parker MILLS, son of John MILLS - Rebecca SMITH of Sussex Co NJ removed to Grimsby, ON CAN eventually. ca 1793.
John was a loyalist. Was punished for his mis deeds against the colonists. Almost lost his life from that.
So stated in his application for land from the British.
At least that is what is posted/available via the reserach of those Canadian Researchers on John.
Apparently each year, there is an ASHBRIDGE Reunion at the ASHBRIDGE house, that in Toronto.
And a book written by an ASHBRIDGE desendant, details all this information re that side of the family.
Not really clear on whether or not John MILLS was in area of Chester CO PA at same time as Mary ASHBRIDGE - MC CLURE family.
Way too many John's for me.
