I am interested in contacting descendants of this Thomas Adams, especially male Adams surname descendants.
Here is what I know about this person.
His wife was named Susanna.
He died about 1792. On 8 Oct 1792 the bond of his son John Adams who was administrator of Thomas' estate was recorded and secured by Benjamin Clarke. (Benjamin Clark was a son in law)
After Thomas death there was a dispute over a parcel of land that Thomas had given to his son William, and William had later sold.In the Louisa chancery causes is recorded this dipute. One document lists "Susanna Adams is the widow" along with "William Adams, John Adams, Robert Adams, Jesse Clements and Elizabeth his wife, formerly Elizabeth Adams, Benjamin Clark and Sarah his wife, formerly Sarah Adams, Charles Payne and Polly his wife, formerly Polly Payne (should be Adams), Richard Adams, Thomas Adams and James Brooks and Cary his wife, formerly Carry Adams"They are listed as his children and heirs.
These same people are named in a couple of deeds to Edward Garland and and Henry Mallory in 1805.Deed book L, p. 108, deed book L, p.232;deed book K, p.178.
Book L, p 108, 29 Oct 1805 " William Adams and Mourning his wife, John Adams, Jesse Clements and Elizabeth his wife, Benjamin Clark and Sarah his wife, Robert Adams, Richard Adams, Thomas Adams and Lucy his wife"
Thomas Adams had lived on a tract "lying in Louisa on waters of Mud Swamp being part of Col. Syme's survey and the same that Thomas Adams, dec'd lived on"
Some of the children moved to Woodford Co., KY.Deed Book L, p.232, 14 Aug 1809 "William Adams, Mourning Adams, Thomas Adams, Lucy Adams, Benjamin Clark, Sally Clark, Charles T. Payne, Polly Payne of Woodford, State of Kentucky appoints John Adams of Fluvanna County, VA their lawful attorney"
Lucy Adams, the wife of Thomas the son, was probably Lucy Dickerson. In Louisa County Book 6, p.149, 8 May 1820 there is a list of the children of Thomas Dickerson and named are Thomas Adams and Lucy his wife.
I am interested in the origins of Thomas Adams. In Louisa book D 1/2, p.203, 11 Oct 1769,John Syme of Hanover Co. to Thomas Adams of Goochland, tract in Louisa on Mud Swamp.
So Thomas lived in Goochland. Also in Goochland lived Robert and Mourning Adams.Robert died about 1740.He had two sons Robert and James.
My thought is that Thomas might be somehow related to Robert.
Thomas had sons named Robert, John, William, Richard and Thomas.
James Adams the son of Robert and Mourning had sons named Robert, John, William, Richard, Thomas, Charles and James.Five sons with the same names plus two additional sons.
They were both in Goochland County and later in Fluvanna County.
Seems too close for there not to be some relationship there.
I would appreciate any thoughts you might have.
