The Elizabeth Davidson who married (about 1772) John Graves, a son of John Graves and Lucinda Adams of Goochland Co., VA, was very likely a member of my Davidson family. The Goochland Co., VA tithe list in 1746 showed Edward, David and William Davidson (living close together).Edward Davidson (born circa-1715) left his Will in 1794 in Campbell Co., VA, and in that Will he mentioned his son Charles Davidson and his grandson John Benning Davidson (and Edward Davidson and Charles Davidson had been on the tithe list in 1764 in Buckingham Co., VA, as had the above David Davidson and William Davidson). These Davidsons have been "traced back" to the Davidsons who were in James City Co., VA by at least 1682.

When Edward Davidson left Buckingham Co., VA and moved to Bedford Co., VA (the part that later became Campbell Co., VA) around 1780 or so, his son Charles apparently stayed behind in Buckingham Co., VA.Later in the 1780s, Charles moved over to "next-door" Cumberland Co., VA.By 1805, however, Charles had moved again to the Greene/Clarke Co., GA area (apparently thanks to the "land lottery" that was offered there).

I just discovered the 1816 Will of a Charles Davidson in Clarke Co., GA, and he appears to have been the same Charles Davidson mentioned above (based on Charles' association with a Robert Gilliam in both Cumberland Co., VA and in Clarke Co., GA).That Will mentioned several people in the Adams family. The Will mentioned: Robert Gilham (actually was "Gilliam," apparently), John Adams, Alpha Adams, Hezekiah Adams, William Adams, Warren Stone, Judith Adams, Lucy Adams, and Millie, Jennie and Juggie. The executor of the Will was John Adams.

Does anyone know how/if the above Adams family in Clarke Co., GA was related to the Adams family of Goochland Co., VA?Since Charles did not mention his wife Judith nor his son John Benning Davidson, I assume that they MIGHT have been dead by 1816.Is anyone familiar with the man mentioned above who was named Warren Stone? Thanks!
