Thank you, but no, it is not the same as your F. L. Adams who married Sallie Watson Ivie.Who the correct parents are for my great great grandparents is what I haven't had a lot of success in determining/proving.
I am hunting the right parents for Alford/Alfard/Alfred Adams born 6 Jan 1813 (in SC per 1850 Coffee County AL Census), who married Sarah Watson in Monroe Co. GA, where her family lived.Their marriage on 7 Jan 1836 is recorded in Marriage Book A, Monroe Co. GA.
There is a lack of agreement among the descendants of Alford and Sarah Adams regarding who were his parents.
Some say that Alford's father is James Adams, some say Benjamin Adams, some say Allen Adams. Many opinions, no tangible proof that I have seen.
I am attempting to get a match or a lead in determining Alford Adams' father by looking for a parent with children born in SC that bear the same names as are used in my Alford Adams' family.
I am asking who are the known children of this James Adams, to see if this James Adams was in SC in 1815 and to determine if this James Adams' children's names contain any matches to the given names repeated in my line.
This has been a very difficult family for me to trace.I haven't been very fortunate in finding any of the actual records that would support who were his parents.
