I have a WILLIAM ADAMS born ca. 1763, died ca. Sept. 1815, in War of 1812, Sgt., married 1788 to MARY ELIZABETH HAWTHORNE.They were to have lived in South.Then moved to Cumberland County, PA.After his death, Mary migrated north, Allegheny County, Lawrence and finally, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.Her Hawthorne family was suppose to have been from VA.I only have documented of them in Cumberland County, PA.Her father, Rev. War.Mary taught in a girls seminary school in Alexandria, VA - I don't have that documented though.They had 11 known children.One of their sons, JOHN ADAMS, born 1799 is my line.Also Wm. had a brother, SAMUEL ADAMS, JOHN ADAMS, and a sister, ANN ADAMS that married a relative of Pres. Pierce's.Wm. suppose to be 2nd cousin to Pres. John.His dad, GEORGE ADAMS and mother, JEANNETTE PORTER.Does this sound like what you are searching?
