Dear Paul:The John Adams I am related to may have been Abraham's brother. He was born in 1727 in Safford, Virginia. He married Ann Caudill in 1746 in Fairfax, Virginia. Together, they had 12 children...the 1st 2 in Fairfax, Virginia, in 1747....the 3rd in Richmond in 1753, then the final 10 in Loudoun County...Their names in order were John,Jr, Benjamin (twins), Jacob,Spencer, Francis(Franky), Charles, Jesse, Moses, Ann, Jane, William, and Henry.Notice the "family" names...as jacob then named 2 of his sons Isaac and Abraham in the next generation, perhaps after uncles.
After 1779, they moved to Roaring River, Wilkes, North Carolina. But, John Jr ended up in Floyd, Ky, Benjamin in Perry, Ky, Spencer in Selma,Dallas, Alabama, and WIlliam to Liberty, Smith Co, TN and later Wilson Co, TN.....Grand children of the original John even went to Missouri.
So far, nobody has been able to trace farther back than to John Adams born in 1727....Is this the brother of your Abraham?
Who are the parents of Abraham? WHere
did they come from?
THe above line can be found on Familysearch.com. Type in William Adams and search. Then scroll down to the #84 in the list, a William B Adams of north Carolina, then you can navigate through the "family Groups " and "pedigrees' all the way back to John Adams.
Are they related to the President Adams line from Henry Adams the immigrant in the 1600'S?
ANy input you may have is greatly appreciated. We just may be related.
