Do not count as gospel everything that you find on FamilySearch Ancestral File. Although the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' compilation of information is extensive, it is NOT always accurate. You can find the same person listed with inconsistant information in any number of ways. My father is listed at least twice with different birthdays. It all depends on how accurate the person sending in the information wanted to be, because not all of it is backed by tangible proof. Granted it is usually a good starting point, but it still needs to be verified with tangible records. I too am descended from the John Hobbs - John Hobbs line - through John Hobb's son Solomon's line. But if I believed everything that is written concerning him, he could not have moved from Kentucky to Missouri where he is buried, because he would have died before he moved.
