John Lickey did not die in Virginia.He moved to Indiana after a few years in Tuscarawas Co. Ohio. He settled in Dover Hill, Martin Co. Indiana.He came to Indiana with his two daughters, Louisa and Dorinda Lickey Smith (they married brothers, Fielding and Thornton Smith). The two daughters, along with John Lickey are buried in West Union Cemetery on what is now Crane Weapons Support Center in Martin Co. IN.He was a soldier of the War of 1812, serving with the Virginia Militia.His father was John Conrad Lickey, b. ca. 1739 and wife Margaret, maiden name unknown. John Conrad settled in Loudoun Co. VA near Mt. Gilead.
