Looking for any information about a Duncan family that appears not to exist. Two sisters, Nancy and Lavina (Levina, Vina) Duncan who by 1880 Illinois Census records claim to have been born in Kentucky, around 1834-36. By 1860 the sisters had married two Adams brothers in Illinois, Anderson and Thomas. In 1880 both families had several children and owned farms in Jackson Co., IL.
It is assumed that Lavina was married before to Phillip Crouder (Crowder) and resided in White Co., IL. In their union they had three daughters, Delila, Octavia, and Sarah. It is assumed that Phillip died and Lavina md. Thomas Adams (b. 1835) in 1861 in White Co., IL.
Nancy Duncan died in Jackson Co., IL. Her husband, Anderson Adams (b. 1832) died in 1900 and is buried in Beasley Cemetery.
There has been no luck in finding the parents of these Duncan sisters and there appear to be no Illinois records before they were married.
Can anyone trace these sisters in either Illinois or Kentucky? The Adams line in which they married were located in Christian Co., KY before coming to Illinois in 1850.
Any help appreciated.
