Yes, this is the right family. This is what we have so far:
Ezekiel Adams b. 1796 in NC/GA? m. Nancy (Bankson?) b.1803 GA Third son was Calvin Spencer Adams according to 1840/1850? MS Census. Calvin Spencer Adams b. 30 July 1833 Crystal Springs, MS ? d. 15 April 1907 Somerville, TX (Burleson) m. Eugenia (Jennie) Lane in Raymond, MS b. 13 May 1835d. 16 February 1906 Children: Will Lane Adams b. 28 July 1857 m. Alice Lee ? d. 7 May 1930 Florence A. Adams b. 1860 m. Mr. ? Stuard d. 1939 Walter Franklin Adams b. 15 September 1867 m. Collie Lea Starnes, Burleson TX. d. 1 June 1935 (W.F. is my G-G-Grandfather) Forest H. Adams b. 24 April 1872 d. 4 March 1926
I dont have a record of a Laura, but Forest is listed as Jennie Lane's son. My guess is that Eugenia/Jennie...if you have her first name as Martha, may also be the Mary E.(Eugenia) of the 1900 Census. It was commonnot only to use pet names, but to use multiple names for the same person. So MarthaEugenia could have also been called Mary, and Jennie. Then again, it could have been the recorder's error. But as an example, I offer this. Walter Franklin Adams Father-in-law was in Waul's Texas Legion in the War for Southern Independence. The records list some 5 variant spellings of his last name that he gave (the roster cards) along with variants for three different Christian names; William, Wallace, and Buck. All three names later became family names in W.F. Adams line.
My only question back would be, how far do the Lanes go? Do you know their nationality?
