The Descendants of James Martin Adams request your presence on decoration day, May 13, 2000, at Pleasant View Cemetary at the intersection of Highways 71 and 40 on Sand Mountain, Dutton Alabama. The family will recognize James Martin Adams for his service in the War Between the Sates as a Private in the 40th Georgia Infantry.The service will be conducted by Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1824 better known as the "DeKalb Rifles" and the re-enactor unit the 48th Alabama Infantry. The service will take place at 11:00 CST. All family and friends are invited. James Martin Adams moved to Dutton, Alabama in 1888 with his wife Mary H. Shelnutt Adams and their children: Virginia, Sallie, James, John Quincy, Nancy, Josephine, Leona, George, Charlie, Flemmon, Billy, Benjamin, and Anna. The family previously resided in Buchannan, Georgia. After the Confederate Memorial Service the Adams family will hold a family reunion at City Park in Pisgah located on the Pisgah Gorge.
