I think we have "chatted" before.I have this that might be of interest:
In the 1840 census of the 3rd District of Coweta Co., GA, has Charles W. Nixon as head of household: 1 male 30/40 (1800-10) 1 male 0/5(1835-40) 1 female 30/40 (1800-10) 2 female 5/0(1835-40) They are next door to Jesse Adams,so therefore most likely the parents of Jane (Adams) Nixon. (Jesse is also in the 1830 census of Coweta Co., GA).
Charles W. Nixon m. Jane Adams on 20 September 1835 in Coweta Co., GA so I have hypothesized that Jane (Adams) Nixon is a daughter of Jesse. . .
I have also put together this while researching the family of Joseph Nixon & his wife, Martha Amelia (Ward) Nixon -- who are in the 1st Dist. of Coweta Co in 1840 > 1920+.I have NOT been able to establish any kind of link between Charles W. Nixon and Joseph Nixon.
More on Charles W. Nixon & Jane (Adams) Nixon: 1850 Census -- Coweta Co., GA 4 Sept 1850; pg 322-323; family #532-532; line #18 occupation: Blacksmith
1860 Census -- Heard Co., GA; Franklin P.O. 19th July 1860; pg. 53 (handwritten) 713 (added); #370-355; line 3 Jane is listed as head of family; occupation: farmer Charles is listed as "insane" (but yet seems to be ok by the 1870 census)
1870 Census -- Carroll Co., GA; Bowden P.O. 26 July 1870; pg. 208; family #1089-1089 occupation: Blacksmith also living w/ family: Ella Smith, female, age 3, born GA -- is this Emily or Sarah's daughter? Is Rudomia actually John's daughter?? No, John died in Jan 1862 in Civil War.
I also got this from Mrs. Helen Nixon (Robison) Foster.Mrs. Foster is a descendent of Abner & Eliza (McSwain) Nixon -- another "NIXON" living in the area, who so far is not related to Joseph Nixon or Charles W. Nixon: "The Carroll County Genealogical Society was given original minutes of The Old Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Carroll County.Charles and Jane Nixon became members sometime after 1845."
