I have some info from my mother's book, "Wilson Worksheet--Our ABC Genealogy" that I'll post for those interested in Elizabeth Adams, b. ca 1802, d. AFT 1847, daughter of Jesse Adams (b. ca 1770) and Nancy Lovelace.
Elizabeth married Godfrey Williams Feb. 14, 1816 in Carter Co. TN. Their children were:
Polly Ann (Mary A.) Williams, b. Mar. 20, 1819, Carter Co,. TN, married William Greenwood,
William Williams, MD, my ggreatgrandfather, b. Aug. 20, 1822 TN (married Elizabeth Denny Pirtle),
Jessee C. Williams, b. 1824, married Matilda Moreland
Isaac Williams, married Rhoda Ellis Carter Co. TN
Godfrey Williams separated from his wife Elizabeth and traveled to Monroe Co. IN in 1830. Later his children Polly Greenwood, William, and Jesse followed him. Elizabeth stayed in TN with the younger children. Godfrey left nothing in his will to Elizabeth nor her three younger children who remained behind in TN.
Elizabeth wrote a letter from Elizabethton, TN to her son William in Monroe Co. IN in April, 1847. She told of Isaac's fine three-week-old baby, Eliza Ann. She said that she and her daughters Nancy and Mary were living on Isaac Tipton's plantation and her son Isaac was at Radford Eli's (or Ellis) place. She writes, "I did intend to come this spring but I never could get the mare, for Isaac sold her and I reckon I shall never come. I want to see you all. I never have saw any of my grandchildren there. I want to see them all. You said that you would never write to me but I request you to write to me to let me know how you are all a-doing. Dear William, I want you to write to me and recollect what the scripture says-- 'Honor thy father and thy mother,' --and I do know that you are my son. I still live in hopes that some day or other I will see you." She mentions in her letter that "your Aunt Jane Adams remembered her love to you and your Uncle James Adams is working about 80 miles from here in Marion."
A James married a Jane Fletcher 12 April 1830 in Carter Co. TN and may be the relatives about whom Elizabeth wrote.
