Lenore Adams and Sampson Stevens are our 4th great-grandparents.We have looked for some time to find parents for Lenore, and now, thanks to you, we have. The Stevens family was also in Loudoun Co, VA and later went to Rowan Co, North Carolina, as did Abraham Adams and his family. We have seen the name Abraham Adams there, but were not able to connect our Lenore with anyone.
Sampson and Lenore's daughter Sarah married Revolutionary War soldier David Railsback, whose family was also in Rowan County at this time. You mention that Lenore's sister Diana married Thomas McMahan Sr.David Railsback had a sister who also married a McMahan.
Railsback desendants have searched for years to find Railsbacks in Loudoun Co, Va, and it has been only recently that we realized it was the Stphens and Adams families who were there."Grandma Railsback's family came from Loudoun Co" became "The Railsback family came from Loudoun Co".Of course, Grandma Railsback wasn't a Railsback by birth -- she was of Stphens/Adams descent and the Railsbacks were not in Loudoun Co, but in Culpeper Co, VA.
Thanks for helping us break through our brick wall in our Adams research.
