John, I was able to speak with my mother this morning and discern the following info: (I will start from scratch as there is a correction in regards to my great grandmother's name whom I knew as Mommie Sue)
Jane Adams married Frank Abelaard Reynolds.
Their daughter was Mary Susan Reynolds, born in Illinois January 25, 1883 and died in Anaheim, Ca. 1976 at age 93.
She married William Chandler Brown and they had two children; Majorie Francis Brown, born in Nebraska(possibly Arlington) June 1, 1906 and Edgar Brown probably born 1905
Majorie married Christian Moller Madsen and had one child, my mother, Patricia Jean Madsen born in Anaheim, Ca.,I believe, August 30, 1925. She married my Father, Robert Edgar DeWeese, Jr. in 1947. My great uncle, Edgar Brown, who later went by Edward, was a silent film actor in the twenties and went by the screen name Rex Hart or so we believe. He died at 72 in 1977 in Anaheim, Ca. My great grandmother, Mary Susan, often told my mother of our descendancy from John and John Quincy Adams. My mother also says that Mary Sue's family was from the south, possibly KENTUCKY, though my mother isn't sure if it was on the Reynolds side or the Adams side or both. My mother actually knew her great grandmother, Jane Adams Reynolds as a child when she spent a year in Colorado. It was in Colorado that Jane Adams Reynolds died around 1940 around the age of 80. Frank Abelaard Reynolds also died there around 1930. My mother does not remember her other great grandfather's name (the father of William Chandler Brown) but is looking for an old newspaper article about his death. I remember reading this article when I was young and to my recollection he died hours after being thrown from a horse or a horse drawn carriage after the horse was spooked by an automobile sometime in first or second decade of the twentieth century. If my mother is able to come up with his name I will foward that to you. Of course, I am very interested myself as to any relation to the Presidents, John and John Quincy, and or Samuel Adams as I have grown up thinking I was related, however distantly and have passed on this claim to my own children. - Thanks, Tim DeWeese
