Hi, how very nice to find your post. My theories are far more frail this morning. *That will learn me, to be thinking I'm so smart*.
Last night I found a Mary E. Aday (52) on the 1910 census for Willis, Texas. I would like VERY much to identify this Mary E Aday.
I believe Willis was originally part of Conroe. I'm convinced that if I can find the owner's name of the small ranch in Conroe, ( that my grandmother, who was Francis Marion Aday's widow) eventually owned , I could go backwards with my family tree.
My grandmother sold the land about 1950 I think but it may have been later. She was also Mary E. Aday. born 1889 in MA and died 1964 in MA. (She and Francis M. lived in NYC and MD).
My grandfather Francis M. Aday was born 1882 and died before 1930.
One could wish for more creativity when they named their children! 'Looking forward to your reply, annie
