Times Daily Thursday, July 8, 2004 Timesdaily.com J. Rayford Aday Mr. Rayford Aday, 67, of Leighton, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 8, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence with Charles Dickens officiating. Interment will follow in Shaw Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Carlton Fuller, Ray Fuller, David Smith, Bobby Aday, Eddie Osborn and D. D. Clayton. Honorary pallbearer will be Peggy Agee. He was a founding member and former chairman of Nitrate City Volunteer Fire Department. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be clearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his son, James Milton Aday; grandson Jonathan Aday; parents John H. Aday and Myrtle Dickens Aday; brother; John W. Aday; and his sister; Helen King. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mildred Aday; daughters, Pam Moore, Trudy Harrison, Sandra White; sons, Jimmy Aday, Jerry Aday, John Aday,, Willard Weems, David Aday; sisters, Margaret Bates, Selma Montgomery, Mary Lois Aday; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, is directing.
