Beth,

As you know I show Joel Adcock with a middle initial of "W", not "A".When Joel's son James Alton Adcock died in Hill Co., TX in 1949, his g-son filled out the death certificate and stated that James's father was "J. W." Adcock and his mother was "Fannie Nicklson".From other family members and information we knew that the "J" stood for Joel, and we have always thought his name was Joel "W." Adcock, not Joel
Annison" Adcock.

My g-grandfather was James Alton Adcock. His brother was Robert "A". Adcock (your gg-grandfather).What does the "A" stand for in Robert's name?

We might need to see if we can find death certificates of some of the other children of Joel Adcock to see what that might offer in the way of Joel's correct middle name.It is quite possible that it was Joel "Annison" and not Joel "W." as I have in my records.

Keep in touch.
