[I am having trouble working out this step of Johns, think the info from internet is somehow mixed up.

So it looks like we start at John that married Elizabeth! The John I have that married Elizabeth left a will in 1780 Granville Co. NC that listed his children:

Before and after this one is where I get confussed, Can you help me, I can' fine your Joseph b 1725 either.
This is a lot of fun finding you, where do you live and how long have you been working on this.
I live in England, Arkansas and I have work off and on for over 20 years (before internet) got to go through dusty and moldy originals in Courthouses, National Archives, buthave never been able to go to N.C. or Tenn.
