The ADCOCK Family started in Queen’s Creek Virginia, in April/May, 1638. There was “Lt. John Adcocke”, “Edward”, “Henry, who was Indentured to Maryland”, and “Thomas Adcocke”, that no one is sure where he went. “Lt. John Adcocke’s” family, was up and down the Eastern side until late 1730’s when they headed to the border of VA, and NC., and was found building roads. - In abt. 1741, Thomas (not same as above) and Richard Adcock (maybe sons of TOBY ADCOCK) came to Granville Co. NC, John and Toby, came after. - In 1767, a “TOBIAS Adcock”, came to the Catawba River in Mecklenburg Co. NC. - In 1769, James Adcock came to Anson Co. NC. I believe he is the Father of Henry, that was born in 1776/7 NC; Henry’s first son was JOHN who married “LILES”, that had Malachi! JAMES dies in 1786, leaving HENRY, (age 9/10) with My HENRY from Buckingham VA. - Around 1770, from MD, came Henry Adcock, his son Thomas b. 1761 MD, (was in the 1790 Anson NC Census) and Henry’s sister “Margaret Adcock Webb”, and her husband George Webb. This Henry bought land in Lilesville, in 1771; he changed some things on his deed and in 1772 he got sick and died. - MY Henry Adcock, from Buckingham VA, (and his brother Edward - Edward, who went on down to Georgia) inheritance (Anson Co. Deed Book K. page 166-7) this land because (I guess) he was the OLDEST living family member, because Thomas, was only 10/11 years old at this time. I guess My Henry (from Buckingham VA) kept Thomas, until he was old enough and then my Henry, gave Thomas, money from the sell of his father’s land that My Henry and his wife Delila, sold in 1773. My Grand-Uncle “Archie Atmar Adcock“, did our Genealogy in 1920/30, his Father, Uncle, and Aunt was still alive; he said that we came from VA, and that TWO came over, whether that’s Lt. John and his brother Edward, or My Henry and his brother Edward (who went to Georgia), we don’t know at this point.
