Thank you for your help! The property loss claim of son John Adcock certainly implies his parents' died at Fort Mims. There were descendants of documented Fort Mims inhabitants that also applied for compensation so this is certainly a strong clue.Thank you for sharing your research.
Have you any theories as to why none of the Adcock children were at the fort?(They weren't actually children - they were grown with the youngest being Reuben age 16.) The family was apparently all together at the home place for the 1810 census.Maybe Thomas Adcock sent them to Mobile for safety, but why wouldn't his wife have gone with them?
I am researching the Adcocks for my stepfather who descends from Thomas' son Reuben Adcock, then from Reuben's daughter Catherine Christian Adcock Sanders Anderson.I believe Catherine was the only child of Reuben Adcock's that remained in Alabama. After her Mississippi marriages, she moved back to Clarke County, Alabama where she died near Jackson in 1917.)
