Gina (I tried to e-mail you privatley, but the message was returned):
I read with interest your exchange about the family of Julia Adcock. Apparently her parents were from the Joelton, TN area. I, too, am looking for members of my family who were from Joelton and wondered if either of you had information about them.
I am trying to find an Elizabeth Adcock, b abt 1817 VA, who married Christian Coleman (b 1804 VA) in Davidson Co in 1834. I found them on the 1850 census of Robertson Co, TN, with children:Joseph, Chapman, James K, Mary Jane, Virginia, and Tennessee. Also listed was a Joel Adcock, b abt 1811 VA-brother to Elizabeth?
Their daughter, Mary Jane Coleman, is my great-grandmother. Her son, my grandfather, was born and raised in Joelton.
I am thinking that perhaps Christian & Elizabeth Adcock Coleman also lived in the Joelton area. I do not know where they were buried. Some of the family is *supposedly* buried in the Forest Grove cemetery at the Forest Grove Methodist Church, outside of Joelton. I have been there, but the graves must be unmarked.
I had a message from another Adcock researcher telling me that my Elizabeth could possibly be the daughter of Joseph Henry Adcock and Susan Cason. Do you have any information on this family? In your post, you mentioned that Julia's father was named Henry-could he be a brother to my Elizabeth? Do either of you know who Henry Adcock's parents were?
