I'm hoping that you can help me see if there is a connection between your Adcocks and my 4g grandmother, Winnefred Frances Adcock. She married Thomas Clopton Pasley in Buckingham County, Virginia Nov. 5, 1785.In his application for a Revolutionary War pension, he states that he was enlisted in the army in Buckingham County, Virginia in February of 1779 by George Adcock. He applied for the pension in November of 1827 while living in Owen County, KY.The application states that "The applicant has never been able to procure sufficient evidence of his enlistment and services until lately, when the person who enlisted him moved from Virginia to this State which person he had supposed to be dead."Enclosed with the application materials is a letter from George Adcock of Shelby County, KY, dated 1 Sep 1826.This seems to be the George Adcock (Edward,Henry,John,Joseph) listed in Generation No. 5 on the web-site that you referred to in your posting.According to the web-site, he was born in Buckingham Co., VA and his son George (who would have been too young)died in Shelby Co., KY.
Also, Polly Garrard Pasley, daughter of Winnefred Adcock and Thomas Pasley, married John Adcock 26 Dec 1833.
I'm trying to find out if Winnefred Adcock was related to John Adcock in some way other than her daughter's marriage and if either was related to George Adcock. Can you help me?
