Addington 'leased' land from a tribal citizen in Chickasaw Nation for his ranch. If you have the census for 1900, there are some Addington families listed. The question, not answered in the old newspaper article, was which Addington was married to a niece of PITZER M. TUCKER, who was a justice of the peace in Cooke Co., TX and later Pitzer had an application for a Confederate pension in Texas. Another question: was Mrs. Addington a niece of P. M. Tucker or his wife? How was he to prove the niece was part Cherokee--what proof would have been acceptable to the Chickasaw Council? Since many Chickasaw records have been transcribed and published--where is this statement from Tucker to the Chickasaws recorded--which record or was it just another scam to avoid paying fees for grazing Addington's cattle?
