Wise, VA — Norma Virginia Bolling Addington, 95, went
peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 8,
2014, at her home.
She was of the Baptist faith, a caregiver for her parents for
many years, was an excellent cook and seamstress and her
greatest past time was crocheting beautiful bed spreads for
gifts for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Addington;
a son, Rodger Addington; a daughter, Anna Lee Addington;
daughter-in-law, Sue Addington Kilgore; granddaughter,
Rebecca Sue Kilgore; parents, Creed and Pearlie Bolling; and
her brothers, Foyster Bolling, Elmer Bolling, Ted G. Bolling,
Roy Bolling, and Lawrence Bolling.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Rodger Addington and wife
Kimberly, of Wise, VA, Robyn Meade and husband Bryan, of
Pound, VA, Reba Brummitt of Coeburn, VA, and Robert Lee
Kilgore, of Wise, VA; six great-grandchildren; one great-
great-grandchild; her sister, Artie Bailey and husband
Clifford, of Wise, VA; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Bill) Bolling,
of Norton, VA, and Betty Chloe Bolling, of Wise, VA; several
nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Norma Addington will be conducted at
7 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Sturgill Funeral
Home Chapel in Wise, VA, with Brother Eddie Allen Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. till time of services
at 7 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 2 p.m.,
Sunday, January 12, 2014, in the Powell Valley Memorial
Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA. Family and friends will meet at
