The Holman Cemetery located in Laclede County, Missouri is in jeopardy. A wealthy farmer has blocked access to the cemetery with a locked gate. The land for the cemetery was donated by Ivan Addison in the early 1900s. There are many Addison buried there.
I'm sure you are aware that once a cemetery access is blocked and therefore not maintained properly for one year, it then is in danger of becoming lost forever.
Please write your email, fax or letter stating that you object to such an action (gate or any other obstruction) by this landowner and request that the county remove the gate permanently to allow free and easy access by the public. We must protect this cemetery.
Send it to my attorney in time for a public meeting with the county commissioners on December 15, 2003:
Email: email@example.com Fax: Attention Mr. John Holstein, 417-869-9943 Letter: Mr. John C. Holstein Shughart, Thomson & Kilroy Hammons Tower 901 St. Louis Avenue, Suite 1200 Springfield, MO 65806 Phone: 417-869-3353
Please take a quick moment and help preserve this cemetery where Civil War (and other) Veterans are buried. Pass the information to anyone you think might be able to help.
If you need more information, I'm happy to provide it. Email me at Buck7rector@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance for your help. Susan Buck Rector
