I am researching the history of my house in Great Bardfield, Essex, England & have found documents indicating that in the early 19th century it was owned by a Malachi Addy.
He was a farmer & grazier of Lolham, Northamptonshire. I have downloaded his will dated 13th December 1822. He seems to have given property (I believe now my house!) to his friend John Pawlett of Deeping St. James, Lincolnshire, England, who in his turn passed it upon trust to his relative William Myhill Hedges.
The will was proved at London 6th March 1824. Sworn to by Myhill Addy, nephew & sole executor.
I do not have any direct family interest but would dearly love to know how Malachi Addy living on the borders of Lincs. & Northants. came to own what was a substantial property in far away deepest Essex!
