The William S. that you are talking about...is he the son of John Abraham (Abe or Abram) Aderholt married to Elizabeth Patrick? I have the same William S., the same ages you listed in the same places on the censuses.
My husband descends through them through their youngest daughter, Elizabeth (Betty).I am searching for information on Elizabeth Patrick.I have Elizabeth Patrick Adderholt buried at Union #3 Cemetery in Ball Play, Etowah County, AL.Her grave stone says,"Lizzie Adderholt 1-22-18295-25-1876"
John Abraham and Elizabeth Patrick Adderholt's daughter Elizabeth is listed as Aderholt on her marriage certificate. She marries in her father's house in Attalla, Etowah Co., AL to Lawrence Sylvester Rains. These two people are also buried at Union #3 Cemetery.
I would like to know more about this family.I did find an Abram Aderhold who served in the Civil War as well as James Rufus (Abe's brother) Aderhold, a J. G. Aderhold (who was killed in Action) and a D.H. Aderhold who were all with the 48th Alabama Infantry Co. K.These were in the battle of Cedar Run and were eventually paroled at Appomattox.
I am a homeschooling mother to 8 and am teaching them history through their family members, so anything on this line would be helpful.
