I believe this actually refers to a Melissa ADKISON or ADKINSON or ATKINSON.
The marriage record is: Marshall Co., TN marriage bonds: Allen G. Truluve m. Malissa A. Adkins, Jan 22, 1851, Executed Jan 23, 1851, By Jeremiah Stephens, M.G.
Those closest family matching her description in Marshall Co., TN from the 1850 census is: 1850 Census:District 9, Marshall Co., TNp. 43 ADKISON, Thomas45 VA ", Lucinda44 TN ", George25 TN ", May23 TN ", Malissa20 TN ", Martha18 TN ", Debby14 TN ", Elizabeth12 TN ", Nancy9 TN ", Tilliam7 TN
Note Wiliamson Co., TN records: Thomas ATKINSON m. Lucinda LAMBERT on 10 Mar 1824 so those are probably Melissa's parents.
I can't find this family in the 1860 census.
From the 1870 Census, it looks like Allen and Melissa had 3 children and moved to Laclede Co., MO 1870 Census:Union twp., Laclede Co., MOpg. 103 CHAMBERS, George W.22 MOfarmer$0 real / $165 (married Dec 1869) ", Nancy A.26 TN(married Dec 1869) ADKISON, Lucinda55 TN$0 real / $200 HARDIN, Melissa A.38 TN TRUELOVE, Lucinda E.18 TN ", Theophilus P.10 MO ", John W.5 MO
However it appears Allen might have died in the Civil War. Melissa TRUELOVE married Nathan HARDEN in Nov. 1867 in Laclede Co., MO. which is why she appears as Melissa A. HARDIN in the 1870 Laclede Co., MO census.
I had these records because I am searching for what happened to the Debby ADKISON age 14 bn TN in the 1850 census.I'm trying to determine if she married William ESSLINGER (bn 1818 KY)around 1860.Any help on that would be appreciated.
