This is my response to the Indian Grandmother Princess Complex; my grandmother did not claim this to me at all. As a matter of fact my indian ancestor was a man and I have a picture of him!I have came across other things that I will not disclose at this time until I research a little further. I will say this though, because of my mixed ancestors not wanting to claim their heritage because of prejudice people, it has made my search difficult. Lets just say this, there is an indian burial ground in West Virginia. This advocate can eat her words as far as I am concerned. I am ashamed of my ancestors for not claiming their heritage, this much I will say. I am ashamed of Americans period. Americans are HEINZ 57s whether they like or not. I do know that records can be falsified because my girlfriend has done it twice. Her children are mixed when she applied for their birth certificates instead of replying other on the space provided for race she put white! If it can be done now I know it was done generations before me. Americans is a mixed race period. I think all the Adkins should dig a little deeper because they just might have indian blood after all. Look through old family pictures! Look through family bibles! Look through diaries! There is where the secrets are hidden. Unless you do not want to claim your indian heritage.
