In the book, Adkins Land of York to Beech Fork by Ronnie Adkins, on page 36 it states:
Isaac Adkins s/o Hezekiah and Mary "Molly" (Levon) b 17 Feb. 1790 Montgomery (Giles) Co.Va.
As a young man of 17 Isaac came with his parents, siblings, and other family members to the Beech Fork area of present day Wayne Co., WV in the year 1807. This area, in 1807, was in Kanawha Co., VA. becoming Cabell in 1809, Wayne in 1842 and West Virginia in 1863.
Isaac m his cousin, ELIZABETH ADKINS 6 April, 1811 in CC. Elizabeth d/o Jacob and Phoebe (Brandshaw) Adkins b 1792 Montgomery Co., VA.
Sometime around 1840 Isaac, Elizabeth and family moved to the Harts Creek area of Logan Co. to join his brother Elias and his family. Isaac and Elizabeth sold their Cabell (Wayne) Co., land in 1840 to Charles Adkins, brother of Elizabeth, CC deed bk. 7 pg 588. This area on the Harts Creek became Lincoln ( The last county formed in WV) in 1867.
Isaac is on the 1820 and 1830 census of CC and on the 1840 and 1850 census of Logan Co. The 1850 Logan has Isaac and Elizabeth living in the area of their children and the children of brothre Elias as well as Elias and Susanna.
Isaac d 17 Nov. 1854 at Ferrellsburg, Logan Co., WV. Elizabeth m (2) MARTIN DALTON 6 June, 1857 without issue. It is not known when Elizabeth died or where she and Isaac are buried.
