Milton Adkins, Bells, Grayson Co., TX

By Nellie Adkins September 09, 2000 at 11:51:20

I am researching my husband's family from the 1800 to the early 1900s at the present. Not much is know by the family before Milton (Henry?)Adkin's 3 children. I have some names and dates but not many. The line I am working on is Milton Adkins b: Ap 20 1875 d: 1881 m: bef 1905 to Virgie Reed b: 1881 d: 1968, both buried at Bells, TX. Their children are:
Lottie Adkins b: July 216 1905 d: Feb 12 1980 m: (1) Floyd Carver (2) Lloyd Hill
Allen Henry Adkins b: Feb 3 1909 d feb 22 1968 m: Lottie Lee Hull
Ralph Hoy Adkins b: Oct 27 1913 d: Nov 5 1983 m: Katie Doris Ripley.
Milton's father was married two times and had 7 children and 1 step-daughter(Georgia by his second wife.). Milton was the only child by his father and his first wife. His father had 1 daughter (Laura) and 5 sons (?) by his second wife. Other names were mentioned in a letter written by Lottie Adkins. Names such as cousin Elm, Dorothy, adopted cousin Agnes from NY, Uncle George and Aunt Laura and cousin Lionel. I don't know if these mentioned relatives are of the Adkins or Reed side. The Milton raised his family around Bells, Texas and spent two years in Walters,Oklahoma where Allen Henry was born. Any help that could be given would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
Nellie
