I am looking for information on M. F. Atkins, 26, Farmer b SC, married to Mary 26, AL, James M. 3 NC, Susan D. 2 NC.
Next door is an apparent brother Thomas 24, with Jane 22, and 8 mo old dau Martha.
Next door is Spencer Adkins 31, Farmer, b AL with wife Elizabeth 43 AL and what appear to be some of Elizabeth's children by a former marriage if Spencer's age is right - Wm I. Hazel, 24, Henry 17, James 12, Elizabeth 10, Darling 8 (male), twins Hillary and George 3, and Phillip 1.
And next door to him is Hillary Adkins 53, Farmer born in VA wife wife nancy 61, b SC.
It swould seem that M. F., Spencer, and Thomas are all brothers, and sons of Hillary.
I am interested because M. F. names children in a 1870 Claiborne Parish Census as Becca, 18, Marshal F. 14, Gabriel F. 10, Fanney 8, and what looks like "Emer" 6 (female).
The connection with Marshall Franks, and at least two of his children, Rebecca, and Gabriel is a very large coincidence. Marshall franks two daughters Rebecca and Milly married Martin and Spencer Atkins, both spelled Adkins in the 1830 Loundes Co, MS census. Several of both Martin and Spencer's children migrate to Louisiana in the 1840's and 1950's. Rebecca, wife of Martin (who was born abt 1793 in SC) is buried in Claiborne Parish.
