I just found your query in the Adkins forum about Owen Adkins. He is my g.g.grandfather, and my father researched the family for many years. He married Elizabeth Sidebottom in Pulaski Co., KY in 1804. Owen is buried at the Richland Creek Cem., Monroe Co.,Indiana. That's near Whitehall. The tombstone is still legible. Owen was usually referred to as Elder Owen Adkins in Kentucky. Nobody has been able to locate the site of the massacre, could be Virginia or maybe northeastern Tenn., possible near present-day Hawkins Co. His father, Owen, signed the petition for the State of Franklin in 1878, as did a couple of other Adkins. My line is Owen, Sr.; Elder Owen (Jr.), Wyatt; William Henry, and then my father, Lester Pearl.
