I am not starting a debate or believe that the Adkins are Native Americans. Just with all the info posted on Richard and Mitha, and Parker and Mary there are questions. I also found out that Melungeon was used to describe people of color and not just the people in Appalachia. So this is perhaps why they say the Adkins are Melungeon on some of the postings.
I do know that my Native American lines are more on my Osburn side than Adkins. Since this is where the most confirmation on the Native strain lies.
But I do not believe that The Adkins were the Melungeons of Appalachia. As it does not show.
I just get P.O.ed when someone says something that I know is not true. If we were Melungeon I would be proud. But the traits are not prevelant.
I have a hard time buying into Royal, Native, Melungeon or anything that is not proven, Yet one cannot discount anything until proven otherwise.
And NOBODY is purely white, Black, yellow, Green, Orange, etc. So to say our line is purely one race is wrong. That's like saying the Adkins never intermarried.
And I have ran into a few researching my lines that tend to believe that my ancestors were 100% caucasian.
So if I offended anyone so be it as I speak from the heart and will defend my post,No pun intended.
