Linda, I am so glad to hear from someone who knows about Arteminsey!!!!I have been to Salem UMC at Mt. Airy, N.C. and I walked the entire cemetery, but did not have your info then. Some family members erected a tombstone there with their names on it.Do you live near there?
The info I have gives her birth date as 1831 m. 15 Jan 1846 to Ambrose ("Ambus" J.) Jackson Loftis, and she d. 1910, with children: Julia A. b. abt 1856 Robert Martin b. abt 1857 Houston T. b. abt 1880 Veranda b. abt 1866 (Virand 0 on census) Mary J. ab. abt 1861
In the above census info there was a niece Mary BRINDLE living in the home. The dates you gave are quite different, but the BRINDLE is quite interesting. But, WHO is the Hulda? You may e-mail me direct if you wish and perhaps we can discuss this better. Robert Martin Loftis is my great grandfather. The children I have for him by 1) Mary Minerva Inman (my great grandmother) are Houston, Robert (Bob), Mittie (my grandmother), Stella (Stella's daughter is living), Elizabeth (delayed birth certificate sent by Aunt) and Gertrude. After Mary died in 1901, Robert Martin married Susie Garrett and she had 2 sons by him, Joseph and Fred (info given by Stella's daughter). I have a picture of Robert Martin Loftis sent to me by staff at First Baptist Church, Walnut Cove, N.C. 1894-1902.I would appreciate your sharing info with me. firstname.lastname@example.org
