I just wanted to report that Lewis Wilburn b. 1802 m Elizabeth Fitzpatrick...daughter of John Fitzpatrick and Sarah East Fitzpatrick.
Lewis Wilburn (1802-c 1884)was the son of Lewis Wilburn (b c 1770 and died after 1850 probably in Knox Co KY) and his wife Susan Blevins Wilburn.Susan Blevins was related toBlevinswho were kin to Elisha Wallen (The noted Long Hunter) whose mother and wife were both Blevins. There were many Elisha Wallens and also Elisha Blevins that followed in this line of Wallen/Walling and Blevins allied families.
Lewis Wilburn and Susan Blevins were also the parents of Elizabeth Wilburn Branham..who lived in eastern KY and appears on the 1850 census records...(Sorry, I do not have my resouce material currently at my disposal.)
At any event, I believe that the given name Wilburn and also any Wilburns allied with this family are connected to Lewis Wilburn and his kin.
Lewis Wilburn's father was Richard Wilburn who lived to be over a hundred years old and lived in many places thoughtout VA and also in NC and later died in Highland, OH in 1820.
Just a few noted other allied families to these Wilburns were: Whitts, Rose, Fultz, Rice and of course many others too.
