JACKSONVILLE - William R. Adkins, 45, of Jacksonville died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1961, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Clay Louis Jr. and Juanita Loudermilk Adkins. He married Patricia Ann Barger in 1985 in Jacksonville. A son, Justin Michael Adkins, preceded him in death.
Mr. Adkins graduated from Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville. He worked for EMI in Jacksonville for 11 years. He was a member of the Jacksonville Community Center of the Deaf and Christ Lutheran Church of the Deaf, where he was a deacon and formerly served as treasurer.
Survivors: wife, Patricia; grandmother, Maxine Loudermilk (husband, Don) Kail of Vincennes, Ind.; brother, David (wife, Kathy) Adkins of Lawrenceville; three sisters, Anita (husband, Rick) Skobel of Elkville, Mischelle Adkins of Chicago and Judy Peninger of Bossier, La.; three nieces; three nephews; three aunts; and several cousins.
Cremation was accorded.
Memorial services: 6 p.m. Wednesday, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, the Rev. Tom Phillips officiating. Private family graveside services: at a later date, Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville.
Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
