Charles Joseph Afflick line originated with his father William who was a 'native' of the West Indies - St Kitts. William was the most highly decorated black soldier in the 10th Hussard Dragoons and married Elizabeth Roach in UK. Charles Joseph the son was indicted and transported to Australia in 1832 for alleged theft of a gown valued at 3 shillings.
